What Did you learn

Thinking back over this course, what were the three most important or most interesting things you learned? How do you envision using the information you learned in your future nursing practice? What steps will you take to ensure your success in the master’s program?

Hello writer I have attacked a brief reflection of lessons 1-7. Please read them to come up with a personal tone to come up with the above instructions. Please use scholarly sources from the United States. You may also use the required book as a scholarly source.

Week 1 Reflection on Learning
Week 1 gave me a clear overview of the importance of earning a master’s degree. The breakdown of the lesson describes how beneficial a master’s degree can be when practicing in the profession of nursing. Expanding my education can lead to knowledge that will help increase patient outcomes, safety and better opportunities in the nursing profession. Furthering my education with a master’s degree will increase my critical thinking skills, my delivery of patient care, help provide patient and community teaching. As a future FNP having a master’s degree will increase my overall confidence.
Week 2 Reflection on Learning

Week two provided me with the in-depth description of the four APN, which provided me good understanding of each role. In my new role as an NP I am looking forward to increasing patient satisfaction; with hopes of increasing the number of patients seen in healthcare for preventive services. The concerns that I may have as I transition to an NP are having a good support team and mentor to help me gain confidence. Another concern is the level of respect from interdisciplinary health education and other health care providers that I will receive. The CNS role surprise me, because I was unfamiliar with this type of APN and the required knowledge the experts must have. The CNS has brought great interest to me. I will further my research of the CNS role.

Week 3 Reflection on Learning

My experience working PRN at a community hospital as a floor nurse on a medical surgical unit, I noticed a change of being staff challenged. Being staff challenged has affected the nurse’s ability to provide person- centered and holistic care related to the increased workload and decrease in nursing staff. As nurses we are aware from nursing school to on-the-job training that we must include patients in their care. With the high demands of patient care we sometimes overlook patients being involved in their care to provide the basic care that is needed at the time.
As I think about my future as an NP I want my patients and I to develop a trusting relationship. I feel we can establish this by me listening and involving them into their care. I plan to self- reflect which will allow me to improve my overall practice.
The concept of cultural humility will affect my practice by making me aware of the overall practice of my patient’s values and belief. Being knowledgeable of other cultures and beliefs will help me better understand the care that’s needed for my patients.

Week 4 Reflection on Learning
I enjoyed week 4 lesson on leadership styles. I feel everyone can use a refresher on establishing a leader. Being a good leading can make a huge impaction on a positive outcome. I compared a good leader to a good football coach. I recall being in high school with a losing football team in the middle of the season, same players different coach the team won their last 4 games, and the next season was even better with the new coach. Strong leadership skills are needed to influence staff performance and patient outcomes. Emotional intelligence is a needed component to help understand individuals it shows caring, support and empathy.
In my future NP role, I feel Servant Leadership is a style that fits my personality and characteristic. It includes patient centered care, focus on working towards the greater good. Servant Leadership respect and value the input of team members. My goal is to make a positive impact in my patient’s lives and staff.

Week 5 Reflection on Learning
Dr. Cavner,
There are many ways understanding of systems theory and complexity science can impact the role of the NP. Both systems require a relationship between each aspect rather than being individualized in the system. Healthcare is considered a complex adaptive system. The NP must first be able to establish science in order to understand the complex science. The most predominant practice model I noticed is networking with other providers and team collaboration. I am satisfied with the support and of the interprofessional collaboration. In my state South Carolina I feel the guidelines are cut and dry. I feel the practice model shows a lot of interprofessional collaboration. Quality improvement and search projects can help within the health care system.
Week 6 Reflection on Learning
Dr Cavner,
As I contemplate on my future NP practice on implementing EBP. I realized there will be a lot of changes and adaptions needed to improve healthcare practice. EBP is a process used to incorporate the best available research into nursing practice. I view my role as educating the staff and patients on new ways of practice. I think engaging in scholarships for NP is a great idea to help with cost and show support. Barriers I see to implementing evidence- based practice are getting staff to adapt to the new practices to see improvement.

Week 7 Reflection on Learning
Dr. Cavner and Class,
I view the nursing profession as being underestimated with the workload, bullying, and mistreatment that nurses encounter. Nurses are viewed by the outside as a nice caring individual who is taking care of sick people. Nurses have problems just like everyone else. They are stress, over worked and underpaid. If the outside world knew what some nurses encounter daily, I believe a rapid change would occur within the organizations. As I move toward my NP role, I would encourage healthcare workers to work together and not against each other. If a harmonious atmosphere is established in the work environment that could decrease on staff shortages, related to improving staff retention. I would not use social media at work unless I am on break. I would use social media to promote health knowledge to the public on different health awareness topics. Some self-care practices I would engage in to promote personal holistic health are taking my adequate breaks while at work, eating healthy, exercise, acknowledging my accomplishments, and creating and shut down routine for the end of my day.
